                                                                                                <abstract><p>Sinyalize dönel kavşaklar son yıllarda yaygın olarakkullanılmasına rağmen tasarım kriterleri henüz netleşmemiştir. Yaklaşım kollarıve ada etrafındaki akımlar için optimum sinyal süresi ve faz planı tasarımıiçin önerilen herhangi bir yöntem mevcut değildir. &amp;nbsp;Söz konusu kavşakların performansının yalnızcabazı simülasyon programları ile ölçülebilmesi nedeni ile konu halâ bir çokaraştırmacının ve tasarımcının ilgisini çekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, sinyalizedönel kavşaklar ele alınmış, sinyal devre süresi ve faz planı için bir hesapyaklaşımı önerilmiştir. Tasarımın etkinliği, farklı tip kavşaklar ve farklı fazplanları göz önünde bulundurularak değerlendirilmiş ve gecikme performanskriteri dikkate alınarak ölçülmüştür. Analizler sonucunda, sola dönüş oranı arttıkça,faz sayısı artışına da bağlı olarak, sinyalize dönel kavşaklar yerine, farklıalternatiflerin tercih edilebileceği bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır.</p></abstract>

                            <p>Roundabout with signals is a common application in many countries.Although it has an emerging trend, design criteria are still ambiguous. On theother hand, performance of these types of intersections can only be measured bya number of simulation programs. Therefore it is an interesting topic for manyresearchers. In this study, primarily,&amp;nbsp;signalized roundabouts are discussed and in particular, the relationshipbetween the left-turning traffic volume and the intersection&amp;nbsp; storage area and signal timing system isinvestigated.&amp;nbsp; The effects ofintersection design are evaluated regarding to intersection&amp;nbsp; type and&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;phase plans and performance of design is measured&amp;nbsp; by considering delays of&amp;nbsp; intersections. The results show that,alternative intersection types can be preferred instead of roundabout withsignals in case of increased&amp;nbsp; left turns.</p></trans-abstract>
