The purpose of the paper is to determine a model, the soil field water capacity in accordance with soil texture. At first, multiple regression analysis has been used to determine a model. But, it was found multiple relation problem in the model because of strong relationships among the independence variables. Therefore, principle component regression analysis was applied and the problem was solved. It is known that sand, dust and clay contents play important roles on field water capacity. But, the model can not be run by multiple regression analysis because of strong relationships among sand, dust and clay. In this situation, the best way is to solve the multiple relation problem by using principle component regression analysis. Bu çalışmada toprağın tarla kapasitesi değişiminin toprak türüne göre modellenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bunun için önce çoklu regresyon analizi kullanılmış ama model denetlendiğinde çoklu bağlantı problemi ile karşılaşılmıştır. Modele sokulan bağımsız değişkenlerin doğal olarak aralarında var olan güçlü korelasyonlar bu sonucun doğmasına sebep olmuştur. Temel bileşenler regresyon analizi ile bu problem ortadan kaldırılmıştır. Toprağın tarla kapasitesi üzerinde kum kil ve tozun çok önemli etkisi olduğu bilinmektedir. Ancak kum kil ve toz arasındaki güçlü korelasyonlar bilinen çoklu regresyon analizi ile modelleme yapmaya engel olmaktadır. Bu durumda temel bileşenler regresyon analizi sağlıklı modelleme için en iyi çözüm olmaktadır.
