In this study, it was aimed to determine problems and solution suggestions and develop in black cumin production in the Bucak district of Burdur province which has an important place in black cumin production in Türkiye. It was used in SWOT analysis to reveal the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of black cumin production in the research region. According to the SWOT analysis results. The strongest aspect of black cumin production in the research region is that the agroecological structure and climatological factors of the region are suitable for black cumin cultivation and the labor demand is low. Its weakest aspects are that it has a weed problem, there is no registered herbicide for black cumin for weeds, and its low yield. Opportunities for black cumin production are that the amount of "thymoquinone" and other values in its content due to the climate and soil structure of the region are at the desired level and its use in alternative medicine is increasing. Production threats are that the decrease in productivity, decrease in production and price instability in dry years due to production depending on weather conditions.
Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de çörek otu üretiminde önemli bir yere sahip olan Burdur ili Bucak ilçesinde çörek otu üretiminin geliştirilmesi, sorunlar ve çözüm önerilerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma bölgesinde çörek otu üretiminin güçlü ve zayıf yönleri ile tehdit ve fırsatların ortaya koyulması için SWOT analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. SWOT analizi sonuçlarına göre; araştırma bölgesinde çörek otu üretiminin en güçlü yönü, bölgenin agroekolojik yapısının ve klimatolojik faktörlerin çörek otu yetiştiriciliğine uygun ve işgücü talebinin az olmasıdır. En zayıf yönü, yabancı ot sorununun olması, yabancı otlar için çörek otuna yönelik ruhsatlı herbisitin bulunmaması ve verimin düşük olmasıdır. Çörek otu üretimi için fırsatların, bölgenin iklim ve toprak yapısından kaynaklı içeriğindeki “timokinon” miktarı ve diğer değerlerin istenilen düzeyde olması ve alternatif tıpta kullanımının artmasıdır. Üretim tehditlerinin ise, üretimin hava koşullarına bağlı olarak yapılmasından dolayı kurak giden yıllarda verimin düşmesi, üretimin azalması ve fiyat istikrasızlığının yaşanmasıdır.
