OCCUPATIONAL DISEASE AND DOCTOR RESPONSIBILITY: TWO CASE REPORTS

Year 2011, Volume: 5 Issue: 1, 25 - 28, 20.04.2011

Abstract

Occupational diseases are encountered as the result of exposure to organic solvents of which the use gradually increase due to industrial development. Volatile substances are being used widely in many areas; mainly shoe, adhesive, dye, detergent manufacturing and cosmetic industry. Exposure to these substances occurs via cutaneous, oral and inhalation route and patients frequently apply with polyneuropathy. While pathologies due to exposure to forementioned substances is reversible in early period, permanent lesions develop in future and various sequela develop due to this.
In this study, two occupatinal disease cases who work in shoe manufacturing sector, diagnosed as polyneuropathy secondary to volatile substance exposure are presented and it is emphasized that forensic case notification should be done in these cases.

MESLEK HASTALIĞI VE HEKİM SORUMLULUĞU: İKİ OLGU SUNUMU

Year 2011, Volume: 5 Issue: 1, 25 - 28, 20.04.2011
