Child neglect and abuse has a very important place both in social work literature and in our society, is frequently encountered and has many social, psychological and behavioral effects on children. People who cannot establish a secure attachment to their parents in childhood are at risk of being neglected or abused. The starting point of this study was to investigate the effect of attachment styles that individuals have established with their parents on their awareness of neglect and abuse when they have children at a later age. In this study, the effect of attachment styles of parents of 0-6 year old children on neglect and abuse awareness was examined from a social work perspective. In this quantitative study, snowball technique, one of the purposive sampling methods, was used. The data were obtained from 281 parents who voluntarily agreed to participate in the data collection form created on Google Forms with the sociodemographic data form, the Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI) and the Parental Child Neglect and Abuse Awareness Scale (PCAWAS). A negative correlation was found between the child neglect and abuse awareness scale and the mother and father form of the parental attachment scale, but it was concluded that there was no significant relationship. A significant positive relationship was found between the mother and father form of the attachment to parents scale. It was determined that as the attachment levels of the parents towards their mothers increased, their attachment levels towards their fathers also increased.
Çocuk ihmal ve istismarı gerek sosyal hizmet literatüründe gerekse toplumumuzda çok önemli bir yere sahip, sıkça karşılaşılan ve çocuklar üzerinde sosyal, psikolojik ve davranışsal birçok etkisi bulunan bir durumdur. Çocukluğunda anne ve babasına güvenli bağlanma kuramayan kişilerin ihmal veya istismara uğrama riskleri bulunmaktadır. Bireylerin ebeveynleriyle kurmuş oldukları bağlanma stillerinin, ileriki yaşlarında çocuk sahibi olduklarında ihmal istismar farkındalıklarına ne gibi etkisinin olabileceğinin araştırılması çalışmanın çıkış noktasını oluşturmuştur. Bu çalışmada, 0-6 yaş çocuğa sahip ebeveynlerin anne-babalarına bağlanma stillerinin ihmal istismar farkındalığına etkisi sosyal hizmet bakış açısıyla incelenmiştir. Nicel araştırma yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiş olan çalışmada amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden kartopu tekniği kullanılmıştır. Veriler, sosyodemografik veri formu, Ana-Babaya Bağlanma Ölçeği (ABBÖ) ve Ebeveynlerin Çocuk İhmali ve İstismarı Farkındalık Ölçeği (EÇİFÖ) ile Google Forms üzerinde oluşturulan veri toplama formuna gönüllü olarak katılmayı kabul eden 281 ebeveynden elde edilmiştir. Ebeveynlerin çocuk ihmal ve istismarı farkındalık ölçeği ile anne babaya bağlanma ölçeğinin anne ve baba formu arasında negatif yönlü ilişki saptanmıştır ancak anlamlı bir ilişki olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Anne babaya bağlanma ölçeğinin anne ve baba formu arasında ise pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Ebeveynlerin annelerine yönelik bağlanma düzeyleri arttıkça babalarına yönelik bağlanma düzeylerinin de arttığı belirlenmiştir.
