                            <p>Bu çalışma, 11 Haziran 2025 tarihinde M/V New Life gemisinin 1915 Çanakkale Köprüsü&#039;nün bir ayağına çarpmasıyla (çatma) sonuçlanan olayın altında yatan faktörlere dair bir ön inceleme sunmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın özgünlüğü, Çanakkale Boğazı&#039;nda meydana gelen bir köprü-ayak çatmasının, resmi kaza raporu yayınlanmadan önceki ilk akademik &#039;ön incelemesini&#039; sunmasından kaynaklanmaktadır. Dokuz denizcilik uzmanıyla gerçekleştirilen iki aşamalı bir Delphi süreciyle desteklenen balık kılçığı (Ishikawa) yönteminin kullanıldığı çalışmada, kazaya katkıda bulunan faktörler; teknik, insani, kurumsal ve çevresel alanlar altında kategorize edilmiştir. Uzman puanları Kendall’ın W uyuşum katsayısı hesaplamasına tabi tutulmuş ve 0,829 puan ile uzmanlar arasında istatistiksel olarak güçlü bir fikir birliğine varıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Bulgular, olayın çok boyutlu faktörlerin birleşimiyle meydana geldiğine işaret etmektedir; bunlar arasında en öne çıkanlar kılavuz kaptan olmadan seyir yapılması, olası mürettebat yorgunluğu ve COLREG (Denizde Çatışmayı Önleme Tüzüğü) kurallarına uyulmamasıdır. Çalışma, uluslararası boğazlardaki daraltılmış trafik ayrım düzenlerinin yönetimi için kritik emniyet içgörüleri ve politika önerileri sağlamaktadır.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>This study provides a preliminary investigation into the underlying factors of the M/V New Life contact incident with a pier of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge on June 11, 2025. The novelty of this research lies in presenting the first academic analysis of a bridge-pier contact in the Çanakkale Strait prior to the release of the official accident report. Utilizing the fishbone (Ishikawa) method supported by a two-stage Delphi process with nine maritime experts, the study categorizes contributing factors into technical, human, organizational, and environmental domains. The reliability of the expert evaluations was validated using Kendall’s W coefficient of concordance, which yielded a value of 0.829, indicating a strong statistical consensus among the participants. Findings suggest that the incident resulted from a combination of multifaceted factors—primarily navigating without a pilot, probable crew fatigue, and non-compliance with COLREG (International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea) rules. The study offers critical safety insights and policy recommendations for managing narrowed traffic separation schemes in international straits.</p></abstract>
