ABSTRACT
Important results have been obtained in the Paleolithic Age surveys conducted between 2015-2019 in Aksaray Province and its surroundings. One of these results is the stone resources discovered around Armutlu Town in 2018. These sources have been studied in detail because they were preferred for chipped stone tool making during the Paleolithic Age. This studies includes both archaeological and geological analysis. In order for stone sources to be preferred in chipped stone tool making, they should give sharp edges when knapped and have a fine-grained structure. There are many types of stones suitable for this definition but the number of examples with detailed information is few. For this reason, it is important to examine and evaluate the stone resources used in chipped stone making geochemically. In this context, all the resources in the area in question were classified as archaeological and geological and presented with the results of the analysis. In this way, it will set an example for future studies in this style.
