Yoksulluk, politika yapıcılar ve kalkınma uzmanları tarafından sıklıkla tartışılan bir konudur. Yoksulluğa herkese uyan tek bir çözüm bulunmamakla birlikte, yoksulluğu azaltmak ve yoksulluk içinde yaşayanların yaşamlarını iyileştirmek için etkili politikalar ve programlar geliştirmek için nedenlerini anlamak önemlidir. Yoksulluk ve yoksullukla bağlantılı farklı pek çok konunun önemi uyarlanan ölçme aracının gerekliliğine işaret etmektedir. Yoksulluğa İlişkin Atıflar Ölçeği’nin Türkçeye uyarlanması bu çalışmanın temel amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu amaca yönelik kaynak ölçekten yer alana ölçek maddeleri Türkçeye çevrilmiş ve uzman görüşü alınmıştır. 270 üniversite öğrencisinin dahil olduğu araştırmada ölçeğin geçerliliği için Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA), güvenirlik için yarı-test güvenirlik analizi gerçekleştirilerek Cronbach Alpha, Guttman Split-Half, Spearman-Brown güvenirlik katsayıları analiz edilmiştir. Gerçekleştirilen DFA neticesinde elde edilen iyi uyum değerlerinin kabul edilen aralıklarda olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Ölçeğin toplam puanına dair Cronbach Alpha katsayısı 0,685 olarak bulunmuştur. Elde edilen bulgular neticesinde kaynak ölçekte yer alan Bireysel yoksulluğun nedenleri, yoksulluğun yapısal nedenleri, yoksulluğun mikro çevresel ve yoksulluğun kaderci nedenlerinden oluşan 4 faktörlü, 18 maddelik yapının hedef kültür ve dilde geçerli ve güvenilir olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ölçek, farklı çalışmalarda yoksulluğun nedenlerini anlamak için kullanılması önerilmektedir.
Poverty is an issue frequently discussed by policy makers and development experts. While there is no one-size-fits-all solution to poverty, it is important to understand its causes in order to develop effective policies and programs to reduce poverty and improve the lives of those living in poverty. The importance of the many different issues related to poverty point to the need for this adapted scale. Adapting the Attributions of Poverty Scale into Turkish language is the main objective of this study. For this purpose, the scale items included in the original scale were translated into Turkish and expert opinions were obtained. In the study, in which 270 university students participated, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted for the validity of the scale and half-test reliability analysis was conducted for the reliability to analyze the reliability coefficients of Cronbach Alpha, Guttman Split-Half and Spearman-Brown. It was found that the values for goodness of fit obtained as a result of the CFA were within the accepted ranges. The Cronbach alpha coefficient for the total score of the scale was reported to be 0.685. From the results, it was concluded that the 4-factor structure with 18 items composed of causes of individual poverty, structural causes of poverty, microenvironmental causes of poverty, and fatalistic causes of poverty in the original scale is valid and reliable in the target culture and language. The scale is recommended to be used in various studies to understand the causes of poverty.
