Abstract

Civilization is a complex whole. This is more so if we understand it as "an ideal state of human culture characterized
by complete absence of barbarism and a rational, optimum utilization of physical, cultural, spiritual and human resources, and
perfect adjustment of the individual within the social framework.'
(Websters Third International Dictionary). Despite the vehement
claims of racists, there is neither such a thing as a unique, integrating and superior civilization , nor is it possible to find the
exact origins of man's material and spiritual products in the depths
of history. From the first appearance of the Homo Sapiens onvvards, the development of civilization has been on a continuous line.
