Çalışmanın amacı Bolu’nun Antik Çağ’daki termal turizm potansiyelinin, arkeolojik ve epigrafik verilerle değerlendirilmek ve olası antik lokasyona ilişkin bir çerçeve belirlemektir. Çalışmada öncelikle Antik Çağ’da bir tedavi yöntemi olarak termal suyun kullanımından bahsedilmiştir. Bu bağlamda Bithynion -Claudiopolis antik kentinin kaplıca potansiyeli belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Var olan kaplıca potansiyeliyle birlikte kentin Antik Çağ’daki sağlık turizm potansiyeli de sorgulanmıştır.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the thermal tourism potential of Bolu in Antiquity with archaeological and epigraphic data and to determine a framework for the possible ancient location. In the study, firstly, the use of thermal water as a treatment method in Antiquity is mentioned. In this context, the spa potential of the ancient city of Bithynion -Claudiopolis was tried to be determined. Along with the existing spa potential, the health tourism potential of the city in the Ancient Age was also questioned.
