Commonsense Naturalism

Abstract

Michael Bergmann is a professor at Purdue University. He received his PhD from the University of Notre Dame, where Alvin Plantinga served for a long time and from which he eventually retired. Bergmann is among the leading philosophers of the analytic school of philosophy of religion. His well-known works include Justification without Awareness (2006) and Radical Skepticism and Epistemic Intuition (2021). In this article, a critique of Plantinga's evolutionary argument against naturalism through Reidian epistemology is presented.

Abstract

M. Bergmann Purdue üniversitesinde görev yapmaktadır. Doktorasını Alvin Plantinga’nın uzun bir süre çalıştığı ve nihai olarak buradan emekli olduğu Notre Dame üniversitesinde yapmıştır. Bergmann bilhassa analitik din felsefesi ekolünün önde gelen filozofları arasındadır. Bilinen çalışmaları arasında Justification without Awareness (2006) ve Radical Skepticism and Epistemic Intuition (2021) eserleri yer almaktadır. Bu makalede, Plantinga’nın naturalizme karşı argümanının Reidci epistemoloji üzerinden bir eleştirisi sunulmaktadır.
