Ufuk University Journal of Social Sciences Institute fully adheres to the research and publication ethics principles in accordance with the decisions of ULAKBİM TR Dizin. All manuscripts submitted to our journal must comply with the ethical principles outlined below.
1. Studies Requiring Ethics Committee Approval
-For the following types of research, Ethics Committee Approval must be obtained, and the name of the ethics committee, approval date, approval number, and decision number must be explicitly stated within the manuscript:
-Research involving data collection from participants using survey, interview, focus group, observation, experiment, or similar techniques (qualitative or quantitative)
-Studies involving human or animal materials/data for scientific purposes
-Clinical research conducted on humans
-Experimental studies conducted on animals
-Retrospective studies involving personal data within the scope of personal data protection laws (KVKK in Türkiye)
Example statement:
"Ethics Committee approval for this study was obtained from Gazi University Ethics Committee on 12.04.2024, with the decision numbered 2024/122."
The ethics approval document must also be uploaded to the system as a separate file under “Supplementary File – Ethics Committee Approval Document.”
2. Additional Cases Requiring Permission
For the following situations, necessary permissions and informed consent must be obtained and stated in the manuscript:
-Indicating that an Informed Consent Form was obtained in case reports
-Written permission for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs, tables, figures, or similar materials belonging to others
-A declaration confirming compliance with copyright regulations for the use of intellectual and artistic works
3. Ethical Compliance Statement
All manuscripts must include the following statement under the Method section or as a separate final section:
Ethical Statement:
"This study was conducted in accordance with research and publication ethics. The research process complied with TR Dizin Ethical Principles, the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, and the applicable legal requirements including the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK)."
4. Studies Not Requiring Ethics Committee Approval
(Book reviews, conceptual/theoretical articles, non–data-based scale development studies, literature reviews, secondary data–based research, etc.)
For such studies, the manuscript must include the following statement:
Example statement:
"This study does not require ethics committee approval as it does not involve data collection from human or animal subjects."
