ÖĞRETMENLERİN PROAKTİF KİŞİLİK BOYUTU VE İNTİHARA YÖNELİK DAMGALAMA DÜZEYLERİ İLE İNTİHARA YÖNELİK BİLGİ DÜZEYLERİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİLERİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Mevcut çalışmada, öğretmenlerin intihara yönelik bilgi düzeylerinin tespit edilmesi ve bilgi düzeyleri ile intihara yönelik damgalama düzeyleri ve proaktif kişilik özelliği arasındaki ilişkilerin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu 264 ortaokul ve lise öğretmeninden (%68.2 kadın, %31.8’i erkek) oluşmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak Demografik Form, İntihara İlişkin Bilgi Düzeyi Ölçeği, İntihara Yönelik Damgalama Ölçeği ve Kısa Proaktif Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Yapılan Kruskal Wallis, Mann Whitney U ve Spearman korelasyon analizleri sonucunda intihar bilgi düzeyi ile proaktif kişilik özelliği arasında anlamlı ilişkiler olmadığı, ancak intihar bilgi düzeyi ile intihar damgalama düzeyleri arasında anlamlı ilişkiler olduğu görülmüştür. Öğretmenlerin bilgi düzeyi ölçeğinde doğru yanıt ortalamalarının ise düşük düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulguları ilgili alanyazın ışığında yorumlanmış ve öneriler sunulmuştur.

EVALUATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TEACHERS' PROACTIVE PERSONALITY TRAIT AND LEVELS OF SUICIDE STIGMA AND SUICIDE KNOWLEDGE LEVELS

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to determine teachers 'level of knowledge about suicide, to examine the relationships between teachers' level of knowledge and their stigmatization levels and proactive personality trait. The study group of the research consisted of 264 secondary and high school teachers (68.2% female, 31.8% male). Demographic Form, the Knowledge Level of Suicide Scale, the Stigma of Suicide Scale and the Short Proactivity Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. As a result of Kruskal Wallis, Mann Whitney and Spearman correlation analysis, it was found that there was no significant relationship between suicide knowledge level and proactive personality trait, but there were significant relationships between suicide knowledge and suicide stigmatization levels. Average correct answers in the teachers' knowledge level scale were found to be low. The findings of the research were interpreted in the light of the relevant literature and suggestions were presented.
