<p>Materials management, particularly the storage function, involves the physical control and management of materials. This process involves ensuring that materials are properly protected and disposed of in a timely manner to minimise obsolescence and damage. In addition, a key element of this function is the detailed recording of the correct location and stock levels of stored materials. In healthcare, storage plays a critical role in the efficient functioning of healthcare facilities. In order to effectively allocate storage space in hospitals, it is necessary to develop effective strategies for organising and managing medical supplies. Optimising storage space allocation by considering factors such as product characteristics, frequency of demand is important to improve overall storage management in hospitals, increase resource utilisation, reduce costs and provide quick and easy access to essential medical supplies. In this context, it is aimed to provide recommendations for material classification using ABC-FSN matrix analysis to address the storage allocation problems of medical supplies. This analysis technique helps to determine the most appropriate warehouse locations by classifying the materials according to their value and importance. The combination of ABC analysis and FSN analysis helps hospitals to allocate strategic storage areas for medical supplies. Consequently, effective management of storage spaces in healthcare facilities is of paramount importance, especially in terms of stockpiling medical supplies. The proposed strategies aim to optimise storage allocation, which can increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve access to vital medical resources. By implementing these strategies, hospitals can improve their overall performance and deliver healthcare services more seamlessly.</p></trans-abstract>
