Publication Principles

1. Selçuk University Journal of Seljuk Studies is a peer-reviewed and periodical publication published by Selçuk University Institute of Seljuk Researches in two issues in Spring (June) and Autumn (December).
2. The articles to be published should be original articles based on research, which have not been published anywhere before on "Seljuk History, Ancient Turkish History, Cultural History, Byzantium, First Muslim Turkish States, European History, Principalities, Institutions, Crusader History, Mongols (articles related to the Seljuks until the 16th century)".
3. Papers presented at scientific meetings can be evaluated provided that they have not been published in another journal or proceedings book before. In addition, reviews, translations, memoirs and book introductions may also be included. The editorial board of the journal is not obliged to investigate whether the submitted manuscripts have been previously published elsewhere. The legal and ethical responsibility of the situation belongs to the author.
4. The language of the journal is Türkiye Turkish. However, Articles written in English are given priority. Articles written in German, French, Arabic, Persian and Russian languages are also accepted.
5. Abstracts should be written in Turkish and English for all articles, regardless of which language they are written in, including English. The main text and bibliography should be in the language in which they are written. The abstract should not exceed 350 words. Keywords should be included with the abstract.
6. In articles produced from master's and doctoral theses, the thesis advisor, thesis title and thesis type should be indicated in footnotes. The colophon of the thesis should also be added to the bibliography. The funded project should also be mentioned in the relevant article.
7. Articles submitted to Selçuk University Journal of Seljuk Studies are first examined by the editorial board for conformity with the principles of the journal, and those deemed appropriate are sent to at least two referees who are well-known for their work in that field. The names of the referees are kept confidential and the reports are kept for five years. Authors make corrections in line with the opinions and suggestions of the referees. Referees evaluate the manuscript sent to them within a certain period of time. If the referee fails to submit his/her report within the relevant period, his/her referee status is cancelled. The Editor and the Editorial Board may make changes in the manuscripts when they deem necessary.
8. Articles should be uploaded to the "Selçuk University Journal of Seljuk Studies" system from the link (http://usad.selcuk.edu.tr/usad). As of 2023 December issue, Dergipark system will be used. You can send an e-mail to usad@selcuk.edu.tr for communication.
