<p>The purpose of this research article is to investigate the impact of trait anger, anger expression styles, acceptance and empathic concern on post traumatic growth within a comprehensive research model. Considering university students’ potential impact on shaping a society’s future and well being; having a deep knowledge about trauma, and post traumatic growth is crucial for the society future. Therefore, data were gathered by university student perceptions. The sample of this research is 281 university students who study in the various universities in İstanbul. Findings confirmed that anger control and empathic concern predict post traumatic growth. From the sub-dimensions of post-traumatic growth; changes in philosophy of life is explained by anger control, empathic concern whereas changes in self-perception is explained by trait anger, anger control and empathic concern. Difference test results showed that male students have higher anger control than female students whereas female students experience higher acceptance and empathic concern than male students. Students’ experienced hopelessness level with the traumatic experience showed that students who experience high level of hopelessness have significantly higher post-traumatic growth than students who experience low level of hopelessness. From the implication perspective, the results of research findings can be integrated to the training programs which can be given by psyhological consultancy and guidance departments of universities and their other strategies regarding students. From the theoretical perspective, this study presents a compact model and offers novel variables that are trait anger and anger expression styles, acceptance and emphatetic concern for the post traumatic growth literature.</p></trans-abstract>
