The defeat of the Ottoman Empire in the First World War has clearly showed that this state had reached the end of its life. The occupied Anatolian lands have been liberated with the War of Independence. Then, the Republic of Türkiye has been declared and a series of revolutions have been carried out. However, this process was quite painful.Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has made an explanation of this process by reading the Speech in 1927. This statement is both a questioning and a reckoning. Many researches and comments have been made about the Speech, which is an important source for the history of the Republic of Türkiye. This is the result of the Speech having a rich content.In this study, firstly, the conditions that gave rise to the Speech will be discussed, and then the preparation, scope, purpose and quality of the Speech will be mentioned. Thus, both the evaluations about the Speech will be examined and a compilation of the works related to the Speech will be made.
Osmanlı Devleti’nin Birinci Dünya Savaşı’nda yenilmesi, artık bu devletin ömrünü doldurduğunu açıkça göstermiştir. İşgale uğrayan Anadolu toprakları, Kurtuluş Savaşı ile kurtarılmıştır. Ardından Cumhuriyet ilan edilerek bir dizi halinde devrimler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ancak bu süreç oldukça sancılı bir şekilde gerçekleşmiştir.Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 1927 yılında Nutuk’unu okuyarak bu sürecin bir açıklamasını yapmıştır. Bu açıklama hem bir hesap sorma, hem de hesap verme niteliğindedir. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti tarihi için önemli bir kaynak olan Nutuk hakkında birçok araştırma ve yorum yapılmıştır. Bu durum, Nutuk’un zengin bir içeriğe sahip olmasının sonucudur.Bu çalışmada öncelikle Nutuk’u ortaya çıkaran şartlar ele alınacak, daha sonra Nutuk’un hazırlanması, kapsamı, amacı ve niteliğine değinilecektir. Böylece hem Nutuk hakkındaki değerlendirmeler incelenecek, hem de Nutuk ile ilgili eserlerin bir derlemesi yapılacaktır
