KARACİĞER VE GASTROİNTESTİNAL SİSTEM HASTALIKLARINDA SER UM C VİTAMİNİ, Beta -KAROTEN VE RETİNOL DÜZEYLERİ

Year 2018, Volume: 11 Issue: 2, 6 - 10, 15.12.2018

Abstract

Gastroindestinal sistem hastalıkları dünya çapında önemli morbitide ve mortalite nedenleridir. Antioksidan özelliğe sahip vitamin C, b- karoten ve retinol, gastrointestinal sistem hastalıkla
ve
kanserle rde lipid peroksidasyonu ve
serbest
radikal gelişiminin önlenmesinde
önemli role sahiptir. Bu ça lış manın
amac ı, antioksidan özelliğe
sahip vitamin C,
b-karoten ve retinolün serum düzeyleriyle ülser, siroz, özefagus ve mide
kanser hastalıkları arasındaki
ilişkiyi değerlendirmektir. Çalışmada  35 ülserli,

40   özefagus   kanserli,  30   mide
kanserli, 25

karac iğer siro zlu
hasta ile 50 sağlıklı birey
serumlarında, C vitamini,
b-karoten
ve
retinol düzeyleri                           değerlendirildi.             Vitaminler spektrofotometrik olarak analiz
edildi. Hasta gruplarının serum C vitamini düzeylerinin kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırılmasında, ülserli
hastalarda azalma ve özofagus kanserli hastalarda artış
istatistiksel olara k an la mlıydı
(p<0.05). Mide kanseri ve sirozlu hasta
vitamin C düzeylerinde istatistik olara k bir fark bulunamadı
(p>0.05).
b-karoten ve retinol düzeyleri,
ülserli hastalarda yüksek, özefagus ve sirozlu
hastalarda düşük olarak saptandı
(p<0.05). Mide kanserli hastalarda serum
b- karoten ve retinol
düzeylerinde istatistik anlam yoktu
(p>0.05). Özefagus-mide kanserlerinde ve karaciğer
sirozunda
b-karoten ve retinol önemli oranda azaldı,
C vitamini ise yükseldi. Sonuç olarak
bu çalışmadan elde edilen verilerin
antioksidan ajanların diyette yer almasının bu hastalıkla rın önlen
mesi ve ilerle mesin in durdurulmasında koruyucu rol üstlenebileceğine dair açısından yararlı bilg iler sunacağı kanaatine varıld ı.

Serum vitamin C, Beta-carotene and retinol levels in liver and gastrointestinal systems diseases

Year 2018, Volume: 11 Issue: 2, 6 - 10, 15.12.2018

Abstract

Gastrointestinal system diseases
are important causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Vita
min C,
b-carotene and retinol, which have antioxidant
properties, play an important role in the prevention of lipid peroxidation and free radical development in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and
cancers. The aim of this
study was to evaluate the relationship between serum levels of vitamin C,
b-carotene and retinol
with ulcers, cirrhosis, esophagus and
stomach cancer diseases. In this study,
vitamin C,
b-
carotene and retinol levels were
evaluated in the serum of 35 ulcers, 40 esophageal
cancer, 30 gastric cancer, 25 liver cirrhosis patients and 50 healthy individuals. Vita mins were analyzed
spectrophotometrically. Comparison of serum vitamin
C levels of the patient groups with the
control group, shows a
statistically significant decrease in ulcerative patients and increase in esophageal cancer
patients (p<0.05). No statistically
significant difference was found in vitamin C levels in patients with gastric cancer and cirrhosis
(p>0.05).
b-carotene and retinol
levels were high in patients with ulcers, lower in patients with esophagus
and cirrhosis (p<0.05). Serum
b-carotene and retinol levels were not statistically significant in patients with gastric cancer (p>0.05).
b-carotene and retinol
decreased significantly in the esophagus-stomach
cancers and liver cirrhosis whereas an increase in vitamin C was observed. We believe that our research
will provide useful information for
incorporating antioxidant agents into the  diet. For this purpose, diets rich in antioxidant vitamins can play a
protective role in the prevention and progression of these diseases.
