Author Guidelines for Van Yuzuncu Yil University Journal of Engineering Faculty
1. General Principles
Van Yuzuncu Yil University Journal of Engineering Faculty aims to publish original research studies in the field of engineering. It is an open-access journal strictly adhering to scientific ethical standards. Authors submitting manuscripts to our journal are expected to comply with the following principles:
- Submitted manuscripts must be original, not previously published elsewhere, and not under consideration by any other journal.
- Manuscripts must comply fully with internationally accepted scientific ethical standards. For studies requiring an Ethics Committee Report, a copy of the report must be submitted together with the manuscript.
- All manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism checks using Turnitin and/or iThenticate software.
The Overall Similarity Index (SI) must not exceed 20%. The similarity from a single source must not exceed 1%. If these limits are exceeded, the manuscript will be rejected. If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be immediately removed from the journal's website, and the author(s) will be banned from submitting to the journal for five years.
2. Peer Review Process and Evaluation
Type of Peer Review: The journal uses a "single-blind" peer review process, where reviewers' identities are not disclosed to authors.
Double-Blind Peer Review Option: Authors may opt for a "double-blind" peer review, in which both the authors' and reviewers' identities are concealed. Authors choosing this option must remove all personal information from their manuscript files before submission.
Evaluation Process:
- The editors perform an initial review of the manuscript.
- Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two experts for peer review.
- Reviewers provide recommendations: "Accept," "Minor Revision," "Major Revision," or "Reject."
- Editors make the final acceptance or rejection decision, considering the reviewers' reports.
- Manuscripts requiring minor or major revisions must be revised by the authors and resubmitted for re-evaluation.
