Abstract
Gossip is a type of folklore that is important dec terms of ensuring communication, information and news transfer between members of a particular society and in this way transferring values and traditions, as well as reflecting cultural characteristics. Gossip, which can be considered one of the largest and most up-to-date oral culture products of the people, is also closely related to folklore. Unfortunately, the studies on this topic have also been left in the background of folklorists. Gossip is carried out by people who share partnerships. As there are rumors made as a result of hating a common person, as well as rumors that people make about their bosses at work, about the teachers of students at school, are examples of this situation. This situation also brings to mind the formation of the people, hence the folklore. In terms of Turkish folklore, a sample of a subject that is open to examination will be tried to be examined in this and similar aspects. From this point of view, when it is called gossip, it is usually known that women come to mind, but men also gossip significantly, but this gossip is chat, criticism, expression of thoughts, etc. it has been observed that the headings are hidden under the headings as well. In addition, the differences between male gossip and female gossip are also mentioned. Some of the features of gossip in Turkish folklore (its functions, magic, etc.) in our study, it is mentioned the information obtained about male gossip through interviews and observation methods is transferred to the reader.
