İkinci Dünya Savaşı’nın etkisiyle Paris, sanat piyasasının küresel merkezi olmaktan çıkmış; Avrupa’dan Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’ne yaşanan sanatçı göçü New York&#039;u yeni sanat merkezi haline getirmiştir. 1960&#039;lı yıllarda Soğuk Savaş politikalarının yükselişi, sivil haklar hareketleri, genç nüfus oranındaki artış ve ekonomik refah Amerikan toplumunu ve kültürünü derinden etkilemiş; dönemin toplumsal çalkantılarını yansıtan ve etkileyen popüler kültür doğmuştur. Popüler kültür ve medya aracılığıyla sanatın daha fazla insana erişiminin sağlanması yoluyla sanat demokratikleşmiş; güzel sanatlar ile popüler kültür arasındaki sınırlar kaldırılmaya başlamıştır. Toplum içerisinde artan nüfus oranı ile gençler artık ebeveynlerine benzemek istememekte ve Pop kültürün de etkisiyle moda alanında yeni tarzlar gelişmektedir. Paris moda evlerinin hakimiyeti yerini bu on yılda giderek ilhamını sokaktan alan yeni tasarımcılara bırakmıştır.

<p>The 1960s was a decade of significant changes in the field of culture and art. With the impact of the Second World War, Paris ceased to be the global center of the art market; the migration of artists from Europe to the United States established New York as the new center for the arts. In the 1960s, the rise of Cold War policies, civil rights movements, the increase in the youth population, and economic prosperity deeply affected American society and culture; a new popular culture emerged, reflecting and influencing the social turmoil of the period. By making art accessible to more people through popular culture and media, art became democratized and the boundaries between fine arts and popular culture began to dissolve. As an increasingly large demographic, young people no longer wanted to look like their parents and new styles emerged in the field of fashion with the influence of pop culture. The dominance of Parisian fashion houses was gradually being replaced in this decade by new designers who took inspiration from the street. Following the fashion revolution initiated by the youth, fashion designers adopted the new values of popular culture and created original fashion collections in fashion-art collaboration. The aim of this study is to examine the impact of art dynamics on the fashion clothing designs of the period through the example of the 1960s and to present a research on the designs produced in art-fashion collaboration in these years and their designers. Document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study, and fashion designs inspired by twentieth century art were selected as the sample. In the study, fashion designs inspired by art in the sixties were analyzed and categorized under separate headings; their creation, resulting from the collaboration between art, fashion, and design, was explained. As a result of the research, it is revealed that the art movements of the period were reflected in fashion designs; that fashion was breaking away from the norms of the past and anticipating the future with the liberation movements in the youth lifestyles of the period; and that fashion designers bequeathed an innovative design vision that would influence the following decades.</p></trans-abstract>
