Amaç: Bu çalışma üniversite öğrencilerinin bitkisel destek alma durumlarını belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcıolarak yapıldı.Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma Yozgat Bozok Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesinde öğrenim görenöğrenciler ile yapıldı. Tanımlayıcı olarak yapılan bu çalışmada örneklem seçimine gidilmeyip araştırmayakatılmayı kabul eden 436 öğrenciyle tamamlandı. Veriler öğrencilerin sosyo-demografik özelliklerini vebitkisel destek alma durumlarını belirlemeye yönelik soru formu ile toplandı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesindesayı, ortalama ve yüzdelik değerler kullanıldı.Bulgular: Katılımcıların ortalama 19.00 ± 0.8 yaşında ve %57.3’ünün hemşirelik bölümünde olduğu belirlendi.Öğrencilerin %67.5’inin bitkisel desteğe başvurduğu, %63.9’unun başvurma nedeninin sağlığı geliştirmekolduğu saptandı. Bitkisel desteğe başvuran öğrencilerin %54.1’i bitkisel terapi, %45.9’unun ise vitaminmineral preparatı aldığı belirlendi.Sonuç: Öğrencilerin yarısından fazlasının bitkisel destek aldığı ve çoğunluğunun başvurdukları bitkiseldesteklerin içeriklerinde bulunan maddelerin ne olduğunu bilmedikleri ve bitkisel destek konusunda bilgikaynağı olarak medyayı kullandıkları saptandı.
Objective: This study was conducted as a descriptive to determine the status of university students to receivingherbal support.Material-Methods: The research was conducted with the students of Yozgat Bozok University Faculty ofHealth Sciences. This descriptive study was completed with 436 students who accepted to participate in thestudy, rather than choosing the sample. The data were collected using a questionnaire to determine the sociodemographic characteristics of the students and their status of receiving herbal support. Number, average andpercentage values were used in the evaluation of the data.Results: It was determined that the average age of the participants was 19.00 ± 0.8 years and 57.3% of themwere in the nursing department. It was determined that 67.5% of the students refer to herbal support and 63.9%of them applied because of increasing the health. It was determined that 54.1% of the students who applied forherbal support took herbal therapy and 45.9% took vitamin-mineral preparation.Conclusions: It was determined that more than half of the students received herbal support and the majority ofthem did not know what the ingredients of the herbal supplements they applied were and used the media as asource of information about herbal support.
