Amaç: Bu çalışma, ebeveynlerin otizmli çocukları için obezite algıları ve endişelerini değerlendirmek amacıyla yapıldı.Gereç ve Yöntem:Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel olarak yapılan bu çalışmaya otizmli çocuğa sahip 102 ebeveyn katıldı. Veriler 01.11.2021-01.01.2022 tarihleri arasında sosyal ağlar(facebook-instagram) aracılığıyla Google anket formuna eklenen sosyo demografik veri formu, ebeveyn ve çocuk kilo durumu değerlendirme formu ile toplandı. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı (ortalama, standart sapma, yüzde, frekans), ki kare ve korelasyon analizi kullanıldı.Bulgular: Ebeveynlerin %60,8’i çocuğunun boy-kilo takibini yapmadığını, %55,9’u çocuğunun bedenini normal kilolu olarak algıladığını, %61,8’i son zamanlarda çocuğunda kilo artışı olmadığını, %68,6’sı çocuğunun hiç yemediğini, %68,6’sı kendisini normal kilolu olarak algıladığını, %57,8’i çocuklarının, %62,7’si ise kendisinin düzenli fiziksel aktivite yapmadığını bildirdi. Çocuğunu kilolu/obez olarak algılayan, kilo artışı olduğunu ve çok yemek yediğini düşünen ebeveynlerin endişeli olmadıkları saptandı(p
Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate parents' perceptions and concerns about obesity for their children with autism.Materials and Methods: 102 parents of children with autism participated in this descriptive and cross-sectional study. The data were collected between 01.11.2021 and 01.01.2022 via social networks (facebook-instagram) with the sociodemographic data form, parent and child weight status evaluation form, which were added to the Google forms. Descriptive(mean, standard deviation, percentage, frequency), chi-square and correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the data.Results: 60.8% of the parents reported that do not follow their child's height and weight, 55.9% perceive their child's body, 68.6% themselves as normal weight, 61.8% have not recently gained weight in their child, 68.6% of them their child did not eat at all,57.8% of them of their child and 62.7% of them did not do regular physical activity. It was determined that parents who perceived their child as overweight/obese, who think that there is weight gain and that they eat a lot, are not worried(p
