<p>Abstract Aim: This research was carried out to determine the effects of surgery-specific anxiety, perceived stress and fear of COVID-19 on the level of postoperative pain intensity in patients who will undergo lumbar disc herniation surgery. Meterial: This descriptive study was conducted in the brain and neurology clinics of a training and research hospital and a university hospital between December 2020 and June 2022 with 100 patients aged 18-70 years. The data of the study were collected using the Patient Information Form, Anxiety Specific to Surgery Questionnaire (ASSQ), the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), the COVID-19 Fear Scale (CFS) and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Results: It was determined that 45% of the patients were between the ages of 41-50 and 57% were male. The mean score of CFS was 16.03±3.82 below the mean value, the mean score of ASSQ was 35.98±4.63 above the mean value, and the mean score of PSS was 25.80±5.90. It was determined that the mean VAS pain score on the postoperative period of the patients was 5.14±0.80.Conclusion: While a positive relationship was found between the patients&#039; preoperative anxiety and stress levels and the postoperative pain level, no statistically significant relationship was found between the preoperative COVID-19 fear level and the postoperative pain level.</p></trans-abstract>
