Abstract
Özet
Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı, pandemi sürecinde COVID-19 yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalışan hemşirelerin terminal dönem COVID-19 hastalarının bakımlarına yönelik tutumlarını ve bu tutum ile ilişkili faktörleri belirlemektir.
Yöntem: Araştırma tanımlayıcı, ilişki arayıcı, nicel desende bir araştırmadır. Araştırma 15 Şubat–15 Mayıs 2021 tarihleri arasında Ankara ili COVID-19 yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalışan araştırmayı kabul eden 306 hemşire ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırma veri toplama aracı olarak, Sosyodemografik Bilgi Formu ve Frommelt Ölmekte Olan Bireyin Bakımına İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği (FATCOD) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin istatistiksel analizinde, Mann Whitney U testi, Kruskal Wallis testi, One Way Anova testi, Independent Two Samples testi, Spearman, Pearson korelasyon katsayısı, Lojistik Regresyon Analizi (LRA) kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Hemşirelerin Frommelt Ölmekte Olan Bireyin Bakımına İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği puan ortalaması 82.17±11.10 olarak bulunmuştur. Araştırmada hemşirelerin yaş, ölüm deneyimi yaşama ve eğitim durumları ile Frommelt Ölmekte Olan Bireyin Bakımına İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılığın olduğu bulunmuştur. Yüksek lisans eğitimi alan, öncesinde ölüm deneyimi yaşamayan, yaşı diğerlerine göre daha büyük olan hemşirelerin ölmekte olan hastaya yönelik bakım puanlarının daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir (p < 0,05). Hemşirelerin, daha öncesinde COVID-19 pozitif olup olmama durumu, cinsiyet, medeni durum, dini inançlarına bağlılık, çalıştığı klinik ve gelir düzeyi ile Frommelt Ölmekte Olan Bireyin Bakımına İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır ( p > 0,05).
Sonuç: Hemşirelerin terminal dönem COVID-19 hastalarına bakım verme tutumunu yaş, eğitim ve daha önce yakınlarının ölümü deneyimini yaşamamış olmanın etkilediği bulunmuştur. Hemşirelerin terminal dönemdeki hastaya bakım vermeye yönelik hastayla iletişim ve bakım becerilerinin geliştirilmesi gerekmektedir.

Abstract
Abstract
Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the attitudes of nurses working in the COVID-19 intensive care unit towards the care of terminal COVID-19 patients and the factors associated with this attitude during the pandemic process.
Methods: The research is a descriptive, relationship-seeking, quantitative research. The research was conducted with 306 nurses working in the COVID-19 intensive care unit in Ankara between February 15 and May 15, 2021, who accepted the research. Sociodemographic Information Form and Frommelt Attitudes Toward Care of the Dying Scale (FATCOD) were used as research data collection tools. In the statistical analysis of the data, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test, One Way Anova test, Independent Two Samples test, Spearman, Pearson correlation coefficient, Logistic Regression Analysis (LRA) were used.
Results: The mean FATCOD score of the nurses was 82.17±11.10, and the median was 83 (min-max: 51-108). In the study, it was found that there was a significant difference between the nurses' age, experience of death, and educational status, and the scores of the Frommelt Attitudes Toward Care of the Dying Scale. It was determined that nurses who received postgraduate education, did not experience death before, and were older than the others, had higher care scores for the dying patient (p < 0.05). No significant difference was found between the nurses' previous COVID-19 positivity, gender, marital status, adherence to religious beliefs, the clinic they worked at, and their income level, and Frommelt Attitudes Toward Care of the Dying Scale (p > 0.05).
Conclusion: As a result, it was found that age, education and not having experienced the death of their relatives before affect the nurses' attitude to care for terminal covid 19 patients. Nurses need to develop their communication and care skills to care for terminally ill patients.
