                                                                                                <abstract><p>Buçalışmanın amacı, yenilenebilir enerji tüketiminin cari denge üzerine etkisinipanel veri yöntemi ile incelemektir. Bu amaçla 27 Avrupa Birliği ülkesi (Maltahariç) ve Türkiye’nin 1998-2011 dönemine ait verileri kullanılarak sabitetkiler ve rassal etkiler modelleri tahmin edilmiştir. Çalışmadaki ülkelerinçoğunluğu enerjide dışa bağımlılık oranı yüksek ve cari açık sorunu yaşayanülkelerden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre yenilenebilir enerjitüketimindeki oransal artış, cari denge üzerinde istatistiki olarak anlamlı vepozitif bir etkiye sahiptir. Buna ek olarak ampirik sonuçlar, enerjide dışabağımlılık oranının cari denge üzerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve negatifbir etkiye sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu sonuçlar, yenilenebilir enerjiyatırımlarının, Avrupa Birliği ve Türkiye için cari açık sorununu çözmedeönemli bir alternatif olduğu anlamına gelmektedir.</p></abstract>
