<p>This study examined the metacognitive awareness levels, reading motivations, self-initiated reading amounts, and reading behaviors of gifted readers. The relationships among metacognitive awareness levels, reading motivations, reading amounts, and behaviors were investigated, and it was examined whether reading motivation, reading amount, and behavior were significant predictors of metacognitive awareness. The participant group consisted of 402 Science and Art Center students in grades 2 through 6 in Türkiye. In the study conducted with the correlational survey design, descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, and regression analyses were used to analyze the data. The results showed that gifted students’ reading motivations, metacognitive awareness, and reading behaviors were above average, it was seen that the reading amounts resulting from personal tendencies were at the average level. However, a significant relationship was found between the reading motivations of gifted students and their metacognitive awareness. In addition, while reading motivation and reading amount were significant predictors of metacognitive awareness, it was concluded that reading behavior was not a significant predictor.</p></trans-abstract>
