Inappropriate working postures cause musculoskeletal disorders which are seen in the various regions of the body such as back, arm, neck and wrist etc. These discomforts are often seen in employees who use physical strength while working.
disorders occur in the employees make production inefficient. Because of the
furniture sector is one of the sector that contains a physical enforcement,
workers are exposed to overloads. Therefore musculoskeletal disorders occur. In
this study, risk assessments are done by using the methods of REBA, OWAS and
QEC to analyze employees working conditions. Observations were made during the
process and REBA score was found by
filling the REBA observation form. Operations have been recorded for OWAS
values. These OWAS values of 15 seconds were found and averaged over all these
values. The QEC score has calculated by the forms filled both observer and
employee. Risk scores of foaming, cloth scarfing, staples stapling and body
stapling are calculated. Foaming process has the highest risk score.
Improvement recommendations have been developed for high-scoring operations.
