Yıl 2017, Cilt: 25 Sayı: 1, 187 - 202, 15.01.2017

It is an established fact that students’ academic success is proportional to their problemsolving
skills. Another established fact is the positive effect of self-confidence on the problemsolving
skills of students. Thus, finding the right courses that would improve the self-confidence
and problem-solving skills of college students is a concern. Therefore, in this study, influence
of drama and drama education on the self-confidence and problem-solving skills of college
students of primary school education is studied. The study was conducted with 34 college
students via experimental pretest posttest single group design model. Analysis of the collected
data revealed that the problem-solving skills levels and self-confidence levels of college students
of primary education have improved after being introduced to the drama education. Therefore,
it is recommended to incorporate drama into various levels of educational system both as a
course and as a technique.
