Author Guidelines

lectio scientific is published two times per year (December and June) in both language Turkish and English. Articles are expected to be in the range of 3000-6000 words for research article, 2000-4000 words for case reports, 5000-8000 words for review. Manuscripts are accepted for publication on the understanding that they have been submitted solely to the lectio scientific and that they have not been previously published either in whole or in part.

We require that all submissions be made through the webpage of lectio scientific by subscribing to the journal. We do not accept submissions via e-mail. Please include your name, contact information, and the title of your paper in your submissions. All submissions will be acknowledged by email, and all subsequent correspondence regarding the manuscript will be sent via email rather than post. 

Further, manuscripts must be prepared for double-blind refereeing, with any and all revealing references to the author removed, including personal acknowledgments. Any submission that does not adequately conceal the identity of its author will not be read. All manuscripts must be paginated.

Deadlines for the authors to submit paper: November, 20 (for the first issue); May, 20 (for the second issue).

Please follow guidelines when preparing submissions:

The editors are willing to read and evaluate a manuscript but please note that the editors may ask for revision of excessively long submissions and that the final version of accepted manuscripts must be formatted as a Word file.

Preparation of manuscripts

All pages of the manuscript should be consecutively numbered starting from the title page (page 1, title page; page 2, Turkish abstract; page 3, English abstract, etc.). Page numbers should be indicated on the bottom right-hand corner of each page. Final version of the manuscript should be in “.doc” or “.docx” format. Manuscripts submitted in “.pdf” format will not be accepted.

Manuscript Sections:

All research articles must contain the following sections:

  • Title page
  • Abstract with keywords
  • Introduction
  • Material and Methods (In case of need under subheadings is acceptable)
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Acknowledgements and Funding resources
  • Conflict of interest
  • References
  • Legends of the figures
  • Tables
  • Figures

All case reports must contain the following sections:

  • Title page
  • Abstract with keywords
  • Introduction
  • Case Presentation
  • Discussion
  • References
  • Acknowledgements and Funding resources
  • Conflict of interest
  • References
  • Legends of the figures
  • Tables
  • Figures

All in review articles, appropriate headings can be used in accordance with the development of the manuscript.

Title Page:

The title page should contain the following information: article title, full name and academic title of all authors, department and institution of all authors, including the city and country, name, full mailing address, phone and fax numbers, and e-mail address of the corresponding author.

Abstract:

The abstract should be written on a separate page. It should contain at most 250 words, and there should not be used any structured.

A maximum of 5 keywords should be included at the end of the abstract.

Introduction:

The introduction should be written to specific aim and available information relevant to the study.

Material and Methods:

All methods used should be described in detail. Known methods should be cited. In addition to this, statistical evaluation conducted should be explained in detail.

Manuscripts reporting studies on human subjects, human data or tissue, or animals should include a statement on ethics approval and consent when humans are involved. Please include the name of the committee that approved the study and reference number if appropriate.

Results:

The study results should be presented in logical sequence and in detail. The findings should better be supported by figures and tables.

Discussion:

Data relevant to the study subject matter should be examined, evaluated, and substantiated with references.

Acknowledgements and Funding should be written before reference section. 

Competing Interest statement: The authors should declare that there is no conflict of interest before reference section. 

References:

Please cite references in the text by number only; superscript (See the Vancouver Citation Style) . At the end of the article, list the references in the order they appear in the text.

Tables and Figures:

Tables and figures should be referred to in text as follows: Figure 1, Figure 2; Table 1, Table 2. The place at which a table or figure is to be inserted in the printed text should be indicated clearly on the manuscript. Each table and/or figure must have a legend that explains its purpose without reference to the text. Each table and/or figure should be given at the end of the main document after reference section.

Language Editing

Particularly if English is not your first language, before submitting your manuscript you may wish to have it edited for language. This may help to ensure that the academic content of your paper is fully understood by journal editors and reviewers. Language editing does not guarantee that your manuscript will be accepted for publication.

Baskı için, resimlerin kaliteli kopyalarını ek dosya olarak gönderiniz. Gönderilen dosyanın boyutu çok fazla olur ise, sistem almayabilir. Böyle durumlarda yazıyı bölüp, diğer bölümleri ek dosya olarak tek, tek gönderebilirsiniz.
