Araştırmada katılımcıları belirlemek için amaçlı bir örneklem seçimi, katılımcıların görüşlerini eldeetmek için de yarı yapılandırılmış bir görüşme protokolü temel veri toplama yöntemi olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri,kod ve kategorilerin verilere dayanmasını öngören endüktif nitel analiz yöntemi kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmasonucunda, öğretmen adaylarının düalistik bir düşünce yapısına sahip oldukları, çalışma kapsamına giren ülkelere yönelikbakış açılarının dost-düşman ekseni etrafında şekillendiği, açıklamalarının daha çok siyasi karakterde ve tarih bilgisine dayalıolduğu tespit edilmiştir.
