The research was performed with elderly individuals (n:125) presenting to a training and research hospital between July and October 2012. An information form, the Self-Care Agency Scale, and the Successful Aging Scale (SAS) were employed in data collection. p values <0.05 were considered statistically significant. The mean age of the individuals in the research was 69.00±5.44 years (min 65-max 90), their mean Self-Care Agency Scale score was 90.00±19.95 (min 33-max 134), and their total SAS score was 53.00±10.42 (min 17-max 68). Weak, significant negative correlation was determine between age and the Self-Care Agency Scale (p <0.001), the SAS (p=0.002), and the SAS coping with problems subscale (p=0001). The elderly individuals in this study had good self-care agency and successful aging scores, with a positive relationship being observed between self-care agency and successful aging.
