AB  - Bu çalışmada, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin tıbbi hata tutumlarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlandı. Tanımlayıcı tipte tasarlanan bu çalışma, bir kamu üniversitesinin hemşirelik bölümünde öğrenim görmekte olan 210 hemşirelik öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirildi. Verilerin toplanmasında “Tıbbi Hatalarda Tutum Ölçeği” kullanıldı. Araştırma için üniversitenin etik kurulundan ve hemşirelik bölümü dekanlığından izin alındı. Veriler tanımlayıcı istatistik analizler, bağımsız gruplarda t testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi ile değerlendirildi. Tıbbi Hatalarda Tutum Ölçeği toplam puan ortalamasının Ort±SS= 2.12±0.32 olduğu belirlendi. Ölçek alt boyutlarından en yüksek puan ortalamasının Ort±SS= 2.95±0.66 ile Tıbbi Hata Algısı alt boyutunda, en düşük puan ortalamasının ise Ort±SS= 1.96±0.46 ile Tıbbi Hataya Yaklaşım alt boyutunda olduğu görüldü. Öğrencilerin sınıf düzeyleri ile Tıbbi Hata Nedenleri alt boyutu arasında istatistik olarak anlamlı bir farkın olduğu (p<0.05) saptandı. Çalışmanın sonucunda hemşirelik öğrencilerinin tıbbi hatalara karşı tutumlarının olumsuz olduğu, öğrencilerde tıbbi hata algısı ve hata bildirim farkındalığının düşük olduğu belirlendi. Hemşirelik eğitim müfredatlarında, öğrencilerin hasta güvenliği kültürünü kazandırılmasına yönelik farklı eğitim modelleri ve simülasyon temelli öğretim yöntemleri kullanılması önerilmektedir.

N2  - This study aimed to evaluate nursing students’ attitudes towards medical errors. This descriptive study was conducted with 210 nursing students studying in the department of nursing of a public university. “The Scale of Attitudes Towards Medical Errors” was used to collect data. Permission for the study was obtained from the ethics committee of the university and the dean of the nursing department. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis, independent groups t-test, and one-way analysis of variance. The mean Scale of Attitudes Towards Medical Errors total scores was 2.12±0.32. The highest mean score of the scale sub-dimensions was in the Perception of Medical Error sub-dimension with a mean of 2.95±0.66, and the lowest mean score was in the Approach of Medical Error sub-dimension with a mean of 1.96±0.46. It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the grade levels of the students and the Reasons for Medical Error sub-dimension (p<0.05). As a result of the study, it was determined that nursing students’ attitudes towards medical errors were negative, and the perception of medical error and awareness of error reporting was low. So, it is recommended to use different education models and simulation-based teaching methods to help students gain a positive attitudes toward patient safety in the nursing education curriculum.
