AB  - Kumar bağımlılığı, bireylerin ruh sağlığına, kişilerarası ilişkilerine ve mesleki yaşamlarına zarar veren, olumsuz sonuçlara rağmen tekrarlayan kumar oynamalarla karakterize bir davranışsal bağımlılıktır. Kumar sadece kumar bağımlığı psikopatolojisine sebep olmayan beraberinde birçok psikopatolojiye neden olan bir toplum sağlığı sorunudur. Kumar bağımlılığı birçok ruh sağlığı problemine sebep olurken intihar düşüncesi, intihar girişimi ve tamamlanmış intihara da neden olabileceği bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, kumar bağımlılığı ve intihar arasındaki ilişkiyi değerlendirmektir. Çalışma, kumar bağımlılığında intihar riskini anlamak ve eşlik eden komorbid bozuklukları tespit etmek açısından ruh sağlığı uzmanlarının tedavi planlamalarına ve bağımlılık önleme çalışmalarına katkı sağlayacağı düşünüldüğünden önem arz etmektedir. Çalışmada, kumar bağımlılığının güncel tanı kriterlerine yönelik açıklama sunulmuş, ayrıca kumar bağımlılığı ve intihar arasındaki ilişkiye ve eşlik eden komorbid bozukluklara yer verilerek bu amaçla Yök-Tez, PubMed, Dergipark ve Google Akademik veri tabanlarında yayınlanmış çalışmaların taranması sonucunda yazılmıştır. Çalışmada, kumar bağımlılığına ve problemli kumar davranışına sahip olan bireylerde intihar düşüncesi, intihar girişimi ve tamamlanmış intihar oranlarının yüksek olduğu ve eşlik eden komorbid bozuklukların var olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. N2  - Gambling addiction is a behavioral addiction characterized by repetitive gambling despite negative consequences, which harms the mental health, interpersonal relationships and professional lives of individuals. Gambling is a public health problem that not only causes gambling addiction psychopathology, but also causes many psychopathologies. While gambling addiction causes many mental health problems, it is known that it can also cause suicide thoughts, suicide attempts and completed suicide. The purpose of this study is to assess the relationship between gambling addiction and suicide. The study is important because it is thought that it will contribute to the treatment planning and addiction prevention studies of mental health professionals in terms of understanding the risk of suicide in gambling addiction and identifying accompanying comorbid disorders. In the study, an explanation of the current diagnostic criteria of gambling addiction was presented, and the relationship between gambling addiction and suicide and accompanying comorbid disorders were included, and for this purpose, it was written as a result of scanning the studies published in Yök-Tez, PubMed, Dergipark and Google Academic databases. In the study, it was concluded that individuals with gambling addiction and problematic gambling behavior have higher rates of, suicide thoughts, suicide attempts and completed suicides, and to have accompanying comorbid disorders.
