AB  - Bu araştırma, ortaokul öğrencilerinin umut düzeylerini arttırmaya yönelik hazırlanan umut temelli psiko-eğitim programını uygulamak ve bu programın etkililiğini sınamak amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Pozitif psikoloji temelli olarak hazırlanan bu programın öğrencilerin umut düzeyi üzerindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. Çalışma, Konya’da devlet okulunda 6. Sınıfta öğrenim gören toplam 24 öğrenci (12’si deney grubu, 12’si kontrol grubu) ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada Snyder ve arkadaşları (1997) tarafından geliştirilen, Atik ve Kemer (2009) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlaması yapılan “Çocuklarda Umut Ölçeği (ÇUÖ)” veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Umut temelli psiko-eğitim programı her bir oturum 50 dakika olarak 8 hafta boyunca deney grubuna uygulanmış ve programın etkililiği sınanmıştır. Kontrol grubu için ise herhangi bir müdahale yapılmamıştır. 8 hafta boyunca uygulanan bu programın sonunda deney grubunda Çocuklarda Umut Ölçeği puanlarında artış gözlemlenmiş ve programın etkili olduğu görülmüştür.
