AB  - Kitap İncelemesiPost-Horror: Art, Genre and Cultural Elevation, Yazar: David ChurchBatu Anadolu [1]ÖZETBu çalışmada; akademisyen David Church'ün 2021 yılında basılan Post-Horror: Art, Genre and Cultural Elevation isimli kitabının incelemesi yapılmıştır. Bu bağlamda, öncelikle sinema tarihinde korku türünün gelişimine ve akademik incelemelerin kapsamına değinilmiştir. Korku filmlerinde yer alan başkarakterlerin ve antagonistlerin yapısı özetlenerek 21. yüzyıldan itibaren ortaya çıkan post-korku kavramının tanımlanması yapılmıştır. Bahsi geçen kavram, David Church’ün kitabı çerçevesinde incelenmiş ve epizodik bir yaklaşımla her bölümün kapsamı ve incelenen filmlerin içerikleri tartışılmıştır. Yapılan incelemede film endüstrisinin yapım, dağıtım ve gösterim unsurları, yönetmenlerin ve izleyicilerin konumunun yanı sıra; karakter, zaman, mekan, toplumsal cinsiyet, politika ve eleştiri kültürü göz önünde bulundurulmuştur. Sonuç kısmında ise kitabın eksik yönleri ve alana yaptığı katkılar değerlendirilmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Sinema, Post-Korku, David Church, Kitap İncelemesi.[1] Arş. Gör. N2  - Book ReviewPost-Horror: Art, Genre and Cultural Elevation, Author: David ChurchBatu Anadolu [1]ABSTRACTIn this study; academician David Church's Post-Horror: Art, Genre and Cultural Elevation, published in 2021, is analysed. In this context, firstly, the development of the horror genre in the history of cinema and the scope of academic studies were mentioned. The structure of the protagonists and antagonists in horror films is summarised and the concept of post-horror, which has emerged since the 21st century, is defined. The aforementioned concept is analysed within the framework of David Church's book and the scope of each chapter and the contents of the films examined are discussed with an episodic approach. In the analysis, the production, distribution and exhibition elements of the film industry, the position of directors and audiences, as well as character, time, space, gender, politics and the culture of criticism were taken into consideration. In the conclusion, the shortcomings of the book and its contributions to the field are evaluated.Keywords: Cinema, Post-Horror, David Church, Book Review.[1] Res. Asst.
