AB  - Klâsik Türk edebiyatının şehrengizinden surnâme veya gazavatnâmesine, tezkiresinden sefaretnâme veya siyasetnâmesine hemen bütün edebî türler tarihle birebir alakalıdır. Tıpkı bunun gibi devrin tarihî olaylarını, gelenek ve yaşayış biçimini bilmeden, sanatçının hangi şart ve ortam içinde eserini ortaya koyduğu sorusu doğru cevaplandırılmadan da manzum veya mensur bir edebiyat metninin yorumlanması, en az bir yönüyle eksik kalacaktır.Yukarıda sözü edilen gerçeklerden hareket ederek bu çalışmada, kısaca Osmanlı'nın tarih ve edebiyat metinlerinin ortak değerlendirilmemesi halinde tarihin de, klâsik şiirin de tam manasıyla aydınlatılamayacağı örneklerle vurgulanmış, bu iki disiplinin bir elmanın iki yarımı kadar birbiriyle bütünleştiği ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.

N2  - All kinds of literary genres from Shehrengiz to Surnâme or Gazavatnâme, from Tezkire to Sefaretnâme or Siyasetnâme in the Classical Turkish literature are in direct contackt with history. Just like this, without knowing the historical events, traditions, and the way of life of that particular period or without answering correctly the question of in what conditions the artist created his/her work, to analyze poetry or prose work leaves out at least one part untouched.  Under the lights of the truths mentioned above, in this study, it is meant to prove that without analyzing briefly Ottoman history and literary works together, neighter history nor classical poetry will properly be brought out into the light. By pointing these facts with examples, it is to say that these two disciplines are like the two halves of an apple.  Keywords: Classical poetry, Ottoman history, historian, literary person.
