Although few salts were isolated, they were found to be short lived. Charged boron cages have been known to be weakly coordinating anions. The cages were used to isolate short lived cations for characterizations and further reactions. In this study , we have facilitated dodecaborate dianion and carborate anion to isolate and characterize diazonium cations.
