AB  - Estetik, 18. yüzyılda ilk defa Baumgarten tarafından felsefi bir terim olarak ele alındıktan sonra estetik alanının temel problemlerinden biri de güzellik kavramı ve beğeni duyusunun neliğini belirlemek olarak karşımıza çıkmıştır. Bu doğrultuda bu problemin kökleri Platon'a kadar dayandırılabilirken 20. yüzyıl, sanat akımlarının ve sanatsal faaliyetlerin çeşitlendiği bir dönem olması yönüyle estetik alanındaki çalışmalar açısından pek çok farklı fikrin de öne çıktığı bir dönem olmuştur. Bu yüzyılda Frank Noel Sibley, “Estetik Kavramlar (Aesthetic Concepts)” adı altında birleştirdiği çalışmalarıyla felsefe çevrelerinde yeni bir tartışma başlatmış ve estetiğin sınırlarının belirlenmesi için estetik kavramlar ile estetik-dışı kavramlar ayrımı yapmış; bu ayrımın temeline de her insanda doğuştan bir potansiyel olarak bulunduğunu iddia ettiği beğeni duyusu kavramını yerleştirmiştir. Bu çalışmada Sibley'in adı geçen eseri temele alınarak estetik tartışmalarında sıkça atıfta bulunulan ve Sibley tarafından özgün bir biçimde ele alınan “estetik kavramlar” ve “beğeni duyusu” kavramları incelenerek serimlenmeye çalışılmıştır.

N2  - After aesthetics was first discussed as a philosophical term by Baumgarten in the 18th century, one of the main problems of the field of aesthetics was to determine the concept of beauty and the nature of the sense of taste. In this direction, while the roots of this problem can be traced back to Plato, the 20th century was a period in which many different ideas came to the fore in terms of studies in the field of aesthetics, as it was a period in which art movements and artistic activities diversified. In this century, Frank Noel Sibley initiated a new debate in philosophical circles with his works he combined under the name of "Aesthetic Concepts" and made a distinction between aesthetic concepts and non-aesthetic concepts in order to determine the boundaries of aesthetics; at the basis of this distinction, he placed the concept of the sense of taste, which he claimed that every human being has an innate potential. In this study, based on Sibley's aforementioned work, the concepts of "aesthetic concepts" and "taste", which are frequently referred to in aesthetic discussions and which are handled in an original way by Sibley, are analysed and tried to be presented.
