AB  - Bu çalışma, İzmir Demokrasi Üniversitesi'nde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin afetlere yönelik bilgi, tutum ve davranışlarını incelemek amacıyla yapıldı. Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel türdeki araştırmada, evreni 8779 öğrenci oluşturdu, tabakalı örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 368 öğrenci çalışmaya dahil edildi. Veriler, araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan "Birey Tanıtım Formu" ve "Afet Tutum Ölçeği" kullanılarak, yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle toplandı. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 21.18 ± 4.52 olup, %64.1’i kadınlardan oluştu. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, katılımcıların %62.8’i daha önce bir afetle karşılaştığını, %83.4’ü afet eğitimine ihtiyaç duyduğunu ve %66.3’ü afet tatbikatlarına katıldığını belirtti. Afet Tutum Ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 72.53 ± 11.7 olarak saptandı. Afetlere yönelik tutumlar ile afete maruz kalma, afet eğitimi alma, afet yönetimi bilgilerine dikkat etme, afete hazırlık için bilgi kaynağına ulaşma ve afet gönüllülüğü yapma arasında anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edildi (p  < 0.05). Sonuç olarak, üniversite öğrencilerinin afetlere yönelik tutumlarının orta düzeyin üzerinde olduğu görüldü. Öğrencilerin afetlere yönelik bilgi, tutum ve davranışlarını geliştirmek amacıyla afet eğitimleri ve farkındalık programlarının düzenlenmesi, toplumun afetlere hazırlık düzeyine önemli katkılar sağlayabileceği düşünülmektedir.

N2  - This study aimed to examine the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of university students regarding disasters. Conducted as a descriptive and cross-sectional study, the research included 368 students selected through stratified sampling from a population of 8,779 students at İzmir Democracy University. Data were collected using a "Personal Information Form" and the "Disaster Attitude Scale" through face-to-face interviews. The participants' mean age was 21.18 ± 4.52 years, and 64.1% were female. The findings revealed that 62.8% of the participants had previously experienced a disaster, 83.4% reported needing disaster education, and 66.3% had participated in disaster drills. The average total score on the Disaster Attitude Scale was 72.53 ± 11.7. Significant relationships were identified between disaster attitudes and variables such as experiencing a disaster, receiving disaster education, paying attention to disaster management information, knowing how to access resources for disaster preparedness, and volunteering in disaster activities (p  < 0.05). In conclusion, the disaster attitudes of university students were found to be above the moderate level. To improve students' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding disasters, implementing disaster education and awareness programs is recommended. These initiatives could significantly contribute to enhancing societal disaster preparedness and resilience.
