AB  - Belli bir amacı yerine getirmek için insan eliyle maddenin modifiye edilmesiyle bilinçli bir biçimde yapılmış nesneler olarak tanımlanan yapay nesneler, Aristoteles’in doğal olarak var olan ve zanaatle var olan ayrımında ikincisine denk düşmüş ve ontolojik açıdan Aristoteles tarafından eksik bulunmuştur. Modern dönemde ise yapay nesnelerin, özelllikle zihne bağımlı olmaları sebebiyle, ontolojimizden çıkarılması fikirleri öne sürülmüştür. Bununla beraber, yapay nesnelere yönelik etik sorunların artışı ve doğal-yapay ayrımının azalmaya başlaması ile yapay nesneleri tanımlama ve kategorizasyon problemleri de öne çıkmış, zihne bağımlılığın ontolojik bir eksiklik olarak görülüp görülemeyeceği tartışmaya açılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, yapay nesnelerin ontolojik statüsü hakkındaki farklı görüşler, Aristoteles’ten günümüze farklı bakış açılarını örneklendirecek şekilde serimlenecek, akabinde bu farklı görüşler arasındaki ortak terminolojilerin açıklamada ortaya çıkarmış olduğu zorluk, değişen fizik dünya görüşü üzerinden açıklandıktan sonra, daha kapsayıcı bir yapay nesne ontolojisinin, Aristoteles’in çok yönlü hareket ve sükûna içsel olarak sahip olup olmama ayrımı üzerinden yapay nesne – canlı farklılığına odaklanılarak ve bütünü önceleyecek şekilde geliştirilmesi teklif edilecektir.

N2  - Artifacts, defined as objects made intentionally by human modification of matter in order to fulfill a specific purpose, corresponded to the latter in Aristotle's distinction between what exists naturally and what exists by craft, and were found to be ontologically deficient by Aristotle. In the modern period, the idea of excluding artifacts from our ontology has been put forward, especially because of their dependence on the mind. However, with the increase in ethical problems regarding artifacts and the decline of the natural-artificial distinction, the problems of defining and categorizing artifacts have also come to the fore, and whether mind dependence can be seen as an ontological deficiency has been opened to discussion. In this study, the different views on the ontological status of artifacts will be laid out in a way to exemplify different perspectives from Aristotle to the present day, and then, after explaining the difficulty in the explanation caused by the common terminologies among these different views through the changed physical worldview, a more inclusive ontology of artifacts will be proposed to be developed in a way that prioritizes the whole by focusing on the difference between artifacts and living beings based on Aristotle's distinction between the intrinsic possession of a source of change and being at rest.
