The study consists of a total of 315 participants, including 148 females and 167 males, determined through a random sampling method. In the study, the data collection instruments used were “Sport Mental Toughness Questionnaire” and “Self-Compassion Scale-Athlet Version. Skewness-Kurtosis test, independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Pearson correlation analysis were used in the data analysis. All statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS 22.0 software. A significance level of p <0.05 was considered. At the end of the study no significant differences were found between the athlete self-compassion scale total score according to gender, age, sport type, sport level and sport age variables. A significant difference was determined in the total score and confidence subscale scores of the mental toughness inventory in sports according to gender, sport type and sport level. No significant difference was determined between the total score and subscale scores of the sport mental toughness questionnaire according to the age variable. A significant difference was found in the total score of the sport mental toughness questionnaire and the confidence and control subscale scores of the participants according to sports age. As a result, a positive and moderately significant relationship was determined between the total score of the mental toughness inventory in sports and the total score of the athlete self-compassion scale.
