These governments areassigned with local preservation of a particular area and ensuring public participation. In a democraticsociety, local governments are generally elected by elections and public participation is ofgreat importance in these elections. Local governments can focus more closely on their countriesand provide more effective solutions. The relationship between democracy and local governmentsis realized through the direct representation of the people and elections held through representatives.Local governments can achieve democratic principles by ensuring accountability, transparencyand responsibilities in principle. This enables people to actively participate in managementparts and influence decision-making parts. It includes respecting the democratic structure andfundamental rights and freedoms of the local government and ensuring justice. In addition, equalityof opportunity and continuity of justice are also important for various social segments and minoritiesto be able to make their voices heard. As a result, the relationship between local governmentsand democracy is important to ensure public participation, accountability and fair governance. Thisrelationship can increase social welfare by ensuring effective and democratic governance at thelocal level. This study examines the relationship between local governments and democracy in thecontext of the basic features of local democracy.
