KW - Kadın KW - Bağımlılık KW - Madde KW - Alkol KW - Tedavi N2 - In the current study, it is aimed to provide a detailed overview of the treatment processes of female addicts. In this context, a qualitative research method was used and a phenomenological approach was adopted. The study group consisted of sixteen women who sought for treatment and were reached by using the snowball sampling method. In the analysis of the collected data, the Maxqda 2020 Analytics Pro program was used. The data obtained were presented under six main themes: decision-making regarding treatment, sources of motivation during treatment, challenges in the treatment process, relationships with the treatment team, changes after treatment and regulations and improvements in addiction treatment. The results of the study indicate that women with addiction tend to be hesitant to begin the treatment process and that their social environment emerges as a source of motivation during treatment. It is observed that female addicts experience various difficulties during the treatment process, and that female addicts experience positive changes when the process ends. The results of the study show that biological, psychological and social factors, as well as gender-based differences occur in the treatment process of female addicts, The results also show that in addition to biological, psychological and social factors related to the treatment process of female addicts, some women-specific experiential characteristics and requirements also come to the fore.
