Materials and Methods: The research is of a descriptive type and was conducted with 45 patient convicts/detainees who agreed to participate in the research at Artvin Closed Penal Institution between December 4, 2022 and March 4, 2023. Personal Information Form, Chronic Disease Care Evaluation Scale, and Patient Perception of Nursing Care Scale were used to collect data. Results: It was determined that 35.6% of the convicts/detainees with chronic disease had cardiology disease, 44.4% had been diagnosed for 1-3 years, 97.8% were on medication and 60% stayed in the hospital for 15-30 days. The mean score of the Perception of Nursing Care Scale was 62.55±17.56 and the mean score of the Chronic Disease Care Evaluation Scale was 3.68±1.34. A strong positive correlation was found between the Perception of Nursing Care Scale and Chronic Disease Care Assessment Scale scores. Conclusion: This study showed that the perception and satisfaction levels of chronically ill prisoners towards nursing care were high. These findings reveal that the quality of nursing care plays an important role in the management of chronic diseases and that improving care processes will positively affect health outcomes.}, number={2}, publisher={Balıkesir Üniversitesi}
