The study aims to go beyond the partial and limited findings in the literature by drawing attention to the potential of communication and interaction habits acquired during the higher education period to affect future social and professional life. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 500 university students studying at Dokuz Eylül University and Aydın Adnan Menderes University, representing different grade levels, age groups, gender and education types. The data were obtained through the survey method, and the 15-item General Phubbing Scale (GSO) developed by Chotpitayasunondh and Douglas (2018) and adapted into Turkish by Göksün (2019) was used to measure phubbing behaviors. The scale includes four sub-dimensions: nomophobia, interpersonal conflict, self-isolation and problem awareness. SPSS Statistics and SPSS Amos programs were used for statistical analysis of the data. The findings of the study revealed that phubbing behaviors differed according to the demographic characteristics of the students. The results show that phubbing tendencies among university students have a multidimensional structure, sub-dimensions are related to demographic variables, and this situation provides an important infrastructure for future intervention, awareness raising studies and policy development processes. In this respect, the study aims to contribute to a deeper and holistic understanding of the phenomenon of phubbing. CR - Aagaard, J. (2019). Digital akrasia: A qualitative study of phubbing.
