Twenty-seven bread wheat genotypes were used as material. It was determined the direct and indirect effects of studied traits on main stem yield by means of the correlations and path coefficients. The significant correlation coefficients were found between main stem yield and grain number per spike, spike weight, the spiculet per spike. According to the path analysis, it was determined that the grain number per spike had the most direct effect on the main stem yield. Spike weight and spiculet number per spike may be accepted as secondary selection critaria, because they had little direct effect on the main stem yield. In selections on these traits the grain number per spike must be also taken into consideration because it had the most rate within indirect effects.}, number={9}, publisher={Selçuk Üniversitesi}, organization={SELÇUK ÜNİVERSİTESİ}
