AB  - Kitâb-ı Mukaddes’te Âdem soyunun temsilcisi ve insanoğlunun tufan öncesi atası olarak anlatılan Şit, semitik dinî geleneklerin tarihî anlatılarında büyük bir öneme sahiptir. O, bir ata olarak, hem içinden peygamberlerin, ataların ve kralların çıktığı kutsal soyun atası hem de nebevî karakteriyle kutsal kitap geleneğinin öncüsü kabul edilir. Kutsal metinde hikâyesi çok hızlı ve ayrıntısız olarak verilse de Helenistik dönem Yahudiliğinde büyük bir dinî değere haiz olan Şit’in önemi erken dönem Hıristiyanlık’ta daha da artmıştır. Temel olarak Şit anlatılarında Yahudi hikmet geleneğinin daha etkili olması, onun Musa şeriatından farklı bir yere konumlandırılmasına yol açmıştır. İlk Hıristiyanlar ise onu gnostik hareketlerin etkisiyle İsa-Mesih’i hatırlatacak bir noktaya yükseltmişlerdir. Fakat adına atfedilen ve gerek Yahudi gerekse Hıristiyan ortodoksiye aykırı kabul edilen gnostik Şitiyen hareketin marjinal görüşleri halkın ilgisini çekince, Şit’e dair rivayetler azalmış ve zamanla kutsal metindeki sıradan bir figür haline gelmiştir. Kur’an-ı Kerim’in herhangi bir atıf yapmadığı Şit anlatıları ise Yahudi-Hıristiyan geleneğin etkisiyle aşamalı olarak İslam’a girmiş ve İslami forma dönüştürülmüştür. Bu çalışmada Tevrat anlatılarından itibaren Yahudi-Hıristiyan geleneğin Şit anlatılarının tarihsel seyri ele alınacaktır ve İslam’a etkisi irdelenecektir. Çalışma konusu gereği mesele kronolojik ve karşılaştırmalı olarak ele alınacak, Şit’e ilişkin rivayetlerin tarihsel analizi ortaya konacaktır.

N2  - Seth, who is narrated as the representative of Adam’s lineage and the antediluvian patriarch of humankind in the Holy Bible, holds significant importance in the historical narratives of the Jewish and Christian traditions. As a patriarch, he is regarded both the founder of holy lineage from which the prophets, patriarchs and kings emerged, and the forerunner of the sacred scripture tradition with his prophetic character. Although his story is presented briefly and without much detail in Torah-Genesis, Seth gained considerable religious significance in in the Hellenistic Judaism, and this increased further in the early Christianity. The predominance of Jewish wisdom tradition in Seth narratives led to his conceptualization as distinct from the Mosaic Law. Influenced by Gnostic movements, early Christians raised him to a status reminiscent of Jesus Christ. However, when the Judaic-Christian peoples took interest in the marginal beliefs of gnostic Sethian movement, which attributed to him and deemed to be contrary to the Jewish and Christian orthodoxy, the tales about Seth decreased and gradually, he has become an ordinary person of holy scripture. While the Qur'an does not mention Seth, narratives about Seth gradually entered the Islamic tradition, and adapted into an Islamic form. This study examines the historical trajectory of Seth narratives within the Judeo-Christian tradition, beginning with the accounts in the Torah, and analyzes their influence on Islam. Due to the nature of the subject, the study adopts a chronological and comparative approach, offering a historical analysis of the transmitted narratives concerning Seth.
