This study highlights the importance of referring to the Prophetic tradition (Sunnah) to understand its stance on intellectual rigidity. The study identifies three main causes of stagnation: (1) the belief that reformism in the religion contradicts Islamic teachings that I countered by evidences extracted from the Sunnah supporting renewal; (2) blind imitation leading to superstition, moral deviation, and innovation; and (3) ignorance of Shariah’s objectives, which are crucial for a correct understanding of the Sunnah and the overarching goals of Islamic rulings. Additionally, the study outlines the Prophetic approach to overcoming intellectual rigidity, including the parameters such as learning from other civilizations in ways compatible with Islamic law, utilizing the expertise of specialists for the benefit of Islam, aligning with the customs of other faiths to facilitate missionary work, endorsing independent reasoning in the absence of explicit texts, encouraging free expression through advice.}, number={1}, publisher={Mardin Artuklu Üniversitesi}
