The family, as the primary social context where individuals have their first eating, plays a crucial role in the development of these behaviors. This study aims to examine the impact of family eating behaviors on children’s dietary habits. This study seeks to uncover findings on the how family meal times are organized, which foods are frequently consumed, how healthy eating habits are formed, and how these habits are reflected in adulthood. The study population comprises Siirt, with a sample of 15 participants residing in the Siirt province. Data were analyzed using qualitative data collection methods. In-depth interviews were conducted with participants, gathering data on family eating habits, meal times, food choices, and awareness of healthy eating. The findings reveal that family eating habits significantly influence children's dietary behaviors. Family meal times were found to be typically organized with the purpose of spending time together, reinforcing healthy eating habits. Additionally, the meals frequently prepared in families were based on traditional recipes, and healthy eating awareness was shaped by mothers' attitudes, such as purchasing seasonal fruits and vegetables and avoiding processed foods. These habits were observed to persist into adulthood. The results demonstrate that family eating habits play a decisive role in shaping children's dietary behaviors. CR - Adamo, K. B. ve Brett, K. E.
